death by chocolate drop cookies

Your life will forever be changed by these over the top, rich, chocolate cookies. I loved having the opportunity to bake these cookies with my sweet, sweet Grandma. These cookies are perfect to be eaten by themselves, or on top of your favorite ice cream.

Death By Chocolate Cookies

  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 packages baking chocolate squares (8oz)
  • 3/4 Cup Chocolate Chips
  • 3/4 C firmly packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Butter

Preheat oven to 350. Whisk your flour and baking powder together in a bowl, and set that aside.

Microwave 8oz of chocolate squares and the butter in a large microwaveable bowl for 1-2 minutes on 50% power. Stir it until it's completely smooth.

Add in your sugar and vanilla, and stir. Slowly add in the eggs, and stir well to make sure the eggs won't scramble. Add the dry ingredients and stir until a thick batter forms. Stir in the chocolate chips.

*There's no right or wrong amount of chocolate chips, it's just your preference :)*

Line a cookie sheet with greased parchment paper. Drop the batter by a rough tablespoon onto the cookie sheet, leaving 3-4 inches between them. Bake for 10 min. They are done when they puff up and appear to be completely baked.

Cool the cookies for 1-2 minutes before transferring them to a wire cooling rack. Cool for 30 minutes before storing them in an airtight container or bag.

Keeps for about 1 week. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
