The Love of Jesus // Fruit of the Spirit //
So, because it's January 1st, 2017, I thought I would start with the topic I think this year is going to be all about. Papa'a love. I feel like 2017 is going to be a year of the best. The best is yet to come. About staying planted in the church and in who you are as a Child of God. So, here we go.
The love of God is real, and it's tangible. You may not know it yet, and that's OK. You may know it, but you will never understand to the extent of which He loves you. We all need a reality check. We don't know Papa's love, and we need a huge reality check to put us back into that place of understanding it. It's not difficult to reach. His love is not caught on a fishing pole every once in a while. It's an encounter waiting for you on a daily basis. It's something to aspire to be like. It's something to want, not just need on a bad day. It's something that God himself freely gives to us in and through all things. God cares about each and every single one of His kids on this planet. He birthed every one of us. And we are here simply because God loves us. And His love is waiting to encounter you especially in the place you least expect it.
The love that comes from Jesus is the most powerful thing you will ever encounter in your life. Guaranteed. When I think about God's love, I think of a rose. How they all look the same, but up close they are so different. No one sees the same rose and it looks identical to each person. God's love looks different to everyone, but yet it is all the same because Jesus paid the price once and for all, FOR ALL OF US. His love brought this blog to fruition. God's love jump-started my gift in calligraphy. His love does these things because He cares about us. All of us. Jesus stopped for the one person whom everyone else overlooked. Jesus was the One who told the crowd, "Let the one who is sinless throw the first stone." (John 8) (The story of the woman caught in adultery; a crowd of townspeople were all around her waiting to stone her to death. Just a little context.) I love this story in the Bible because it's a perfect example of how Jesus loves. He loves with intentionality. And He doesn't just stop at one love encounter. He doesn't keep His own love to himself. He is waiting to encounter you again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and so on. The Bible also says, "Let everything you do be done in love." Everything that Jesus did and is doing is rooted in love. The way He looks at you, the way He thinks about you, and ultimately the way He speaks to you is always eloquently rooted in LOVE. So therefore if God is rooted in love, and He gives you His love freely as a fruit of the Spirit, then therefore YOU, my dear, are rooted in love.
Therefore, when your roots are deep, there's no reason to fear the wind.
You have been planted in love. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here. When God created you, He said, "This is my son/daughter, and with whom I am well pleased." If He wasn't in love with you, He wouldn't be proud of you or pleased with you. Mostly, He wouldn't believe in you. But God does love you and He is deeply IN LOVE with you. He does believe in you. He is proud of you. He calls out only the best in you. GOD DOES LOVE YOU. Nothing that you've done, are doing, or will ever do will make God love you more or less than He does right now. GOD'S LOVE IS ALWAYS ENOUGH. Do you know how highly God thinks of you?? Do you know that He knows you are so beautiful that He never wants to take His gaze off of you?
If you're unsure what love is, it looks like Jesus.
His love is always intentional. He never wastes His time on you. His love always looks like something, and if you are not sure what His love really looks like, it always looks like Jesus. When you surround yourself with friends and leaders who go after Jesus with all that they are, THAT looks like love. When you have leaders who constantly invest you and only call out the gold in you, THAT looks like Jesus. You will never walk out of an encounter with Jesus feeling rejected or UNLOVED. You will never walk out of a conversation with God feeling burdened or weary. If your circumstances have not changed, then you have NOT encountered the Person of Love. There is nothing like God's said love. If you're looking for love elsewhere, you're not going to find it because true love is only found in Jesus and Jesus alone. When you don't know what to say, just say JESUS. His name is powerful, and using your words is absolutely powerful. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. So, when you say Jesus, you are automatically speaking life into your situation. And speaking life into your situation is the best thing you can do. God is going to continue to call you Heavenward, and His love right here, right now is a sure promise of that.
A Love Letter from Jesus,
I LOVE YOU. I believe in you. I think so highly of you. To put my love into perspective for you, the ocean is deep, wide, high, and vast. There's so much still to be discovered, and little that has been discovered. That's what my love is. My love for you is an ocean. There's little you know, and lots of secrets I can't wait to share with you. I long to spend every second of every minute of every single day with you. Because I love you and I don't want you to feel alone. I've always been there for you, I am always here for you, and I will always be here for you. There's never a moment that I'm not by your side. I am so proud of you. I love you just the way you are. You don't have to change yourself to be like other people. If I wanted you to be like other people, I would have created you to be like other people. But that's not it at all. Your beauty should not come from the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. When you express the Spirit I have given you, you are truly unstoppable, untouchable, unshakable, and an absolute death threat to the enemy. Nothing is impossible for you.
