The Reality of Being Human

My hope with this post is to encourage you today that you're doing everything right. Sometimes life just happens and you have to be okay with not being okay before you can move on and actually be okay- for real. It's time to not pretend we're okay when we're not. So let's be real.

Circumstances are inevitable. Life happens. Mistakes are made. Uncalled for events arise out of the blue and we are left with nothing to do but wonder why it all happens.

You are human.

Lots of things in life are out of your control. And that's okay. We were never made to be able to control everything. In order to understand who you are and what your purpose is, you have to be okay with never understanding.

Have you ever struggled with repeating patterns of thoughts or actions? You may feel as if you're constantly running in circles or you're on a hamster wheel and you don't know what you're even doing let alone where you're going.

You matter.

No matter how you feel or what the enemy whispers to you, you are valid because God validated you and made a covenant with you when He created you. God uses His time wisely. I can assure you He didn't waste His time planning your life out for you.

You are not powerful enough to disqualify yourself from the destiny God has for you. -Aaron Wagner

Yes, your pain is real. Your struggles are real. It's okay to admit that. Avoiding your circumstances doesn't change them but dwelling in the midst of them only makes it worse. You can't escape the fact that sometimes life just sucks. But you can choose to dwell in your pain or dwell in your identity as a Beloved Daughter. You can't be disqualified from who you are. Love yourself. It's a good use of time.

You will be okay.

Yes, you may be in a season of only seeing what's going on right now and you don't have any hope that the future will be any better. You may not see what God is doing. I can testify to that. But do you have to understand what God is doing in order to be okay? Can you be okay with never understanding?

Do you have to know why?

"But I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness." lamentations 3:21-23

You may be running in circles. Your everyday may be a 1 step forward 2 step back cycle. But no, you will not be consumed. God is faithful and His steadfast love never ceases to show up. His promises never fail. Not even once.

Now this is what the Lord says- the one who created you, Jacob, and the one who formed you, Israel- "do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name, you are mine. I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire, and the flame will not burn you. For I am the Lord your God, the holy one of Israel, and your Savior. I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'do not hold them back!' bring my sons from far away, and my daughters from the ends of the earth. everyone who bears my name and is created for my glory. I have formed them, indeed, I have made them." Isaiah 43:1-7 CSB

Circumstances are temporary but life is eternal. You have SO much to look forward to. This season will pass. There will be a time where you will look back and realize how good God has been to you. But you don't have to worry about that right now. Focus on loving yourself and giving yourself grace. Focus on learning who God is. And just enjoy the simple moments. Enjoy yourself. Go, do, and be yourself. Don't worry about how you look. You're beautiful. Embrace the confidence that comes from loving yourself. It can't hurt. And don't stress about your season. You're gonna be okay.
