The Importance Of Relationships // Ceana O'Connor
we can’t do everything on our own, we won’t make it. the importance of relationship is something that has been burning on my heart to write about. the importance of relationship with God and with others is something that isn’t talked about often, although is something that we have to be aware of. we need to know the way a relationship should look and how to tell if it is healthy or not. having a healthy and solid relationship with God is a key to living with him and through him.
God longs to know you and speak with you everyday. He longs for Him to be your one thing; that means choosing him over social media, friends, food, movies, tv, work, school, sleep, this list goes on and on. choosing him over things of the world is the first step in a healthy relationship with God. being close to him and walking next to him is so important. speaking with him, praying, and pressing into him is something that needs to be done daily.
devotions isn’t an option when you want to become closer to your father.
i can not stress enough how important it is to have a relationship with God, daily, that keeps getting deeper and deeper.
being convicted in a message, or in a post like this, to start spending time with God is not going to work. it has to be something that is burning on your heart and a passion that is stirred inside of you because it’s not easy. it’s not easy to give up things of the world or sleep to be with him, it’s just not. you have to make the commitment to do it because you want to, not because i tell you to or because it’s the right thing to do. some days it’s not easy to thank God and tell him thank you but you have to. some days it’s not easy to wake up an hour before you have to just to be with Jesus but it’s a sacrifice that is showing Jesus you choose him. not only is a relationship with God important but so are relationships with your peers and family.
when God created the earth He not only created man but He also created woman. this is because He knew Adam needed someone else. fellowship and community are so important because it strengthens the relationship between you and who’s going to be there for you when you are having a horrible day. it grows the trust of those around you and gives you someone to talk to and laugh with. take a few minutes to think about how you are building your relationship with God and others, is that how you want it to be? what needs to change?
