Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in all the Earth."

"Cease striving and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in all the Earth."

Last weekend my church held a conference and it was purely incredible in every way. Completely life changing for me. One of the many life changing things God did was He gave me space to rest in His arms. Gave me space to breathe and come back to His reality so He could do whatever He wanted to.

Letting go of every single little bit of control in my life recently has been really hard. Anyone relate? I know I used to like to be in control and it was a huge struggle for me when I wasn't.

Resting is learning how to let go of everything and to just breathe, lean back against Dad and just listen to His heart beat.

This is what resting looks like for me. Unplugging from everything, being completely still, and laying back against God.

Most times it's not about what I say or do. In fact God had to remind me to not say or do anything. I think it's about waiting. Making myself available to God so if He wants to speak, He can. And if He wants to just be with me, He can.

I don't know what being still looks like specifically for you. But corporately, I know it looks and sounds a lot like this. If we do not learn how to rest in the arms of our beautiful Father, we will not be capable of doing all that He has called us to do. Why? Because when we rest, we can hear His voice so clearly. The still small voice is suddenly so clear.

In the time of resting, we can come back to the beginning. Where all that matters is just us and God, and in the place God can say and do whatever He wants to. Did you know that God doesn't always have something to say? Sometimes He just wants to be with us.

When we rest, all of our titles slowly fade away. Even the good ones. "Blogger. Writer. Creative. Hand Letterer. Traveler. Staff Member. Worship Leader. Dancer." Whatever your title may be. And we come back to this beautiful reality of all that really matters. Who you are and who He is.

Father and Daughter.

Something God is laying heavily on my heart right now as I'm typing this is this, "I'm not disappointed in you. I've never been and I never will be. I give you space to process with Me all your heart holds. Come to Me, child, and see and experience what my kind of love is. I promise, I will not hurt your heart. I promise, I will not damage any part of you. You can trust Me, for I know how delicately I made you and I know how delicately to take care of you. Let Me come and take care of your heart. Let Me come and be the Father you always wanted but never had. Let Me be the love your heart is yearning for. I am all that you need, and so much more."

Woah. I typed that out and did not even think about what I was doing. That is purely from our Father and someone reading this really needs to hear it. I don't know who or where you are, but if you are reading this, read it like your Father said it specifically to you. Receive it because God knows that's exactly what you've been asking for this whole time.

To close, I want you to know that God rested. You can read it in Genesis 1. Our Creator rested because He was satisfied with what He had created. He wants you to rest, too. So come and rest with Him. Whatever that looks like for you. It's essential for all of us.
