Peace // Fruits of the Spirit //

I have the privilege to share with you a post written by one of my dearest friends, Amber. She loves the Lord and when she worships the mountains and the earth tremble because of the authority she carries. The way she walks with the Peace of God on a daily basis is powerful to witness. Thank you, Amber for sharing your heart on peace! Love you!

Synonyms: tranquility, calm, restfulness, quiet

Something I know for a fact is that this world is incapable of and cannot give us peace. True peace at least. We have to work for it in the world, set apart time for it in our unpeaceful schedules, and seek for it in ALL that you do. It's not freely given to us by this world. It IS however, a free gift from the LORD.

A gift intricately, beautifully, undeservingly is handed over to us from the King of Kings!

Take this gift. Not for granted, but truly take it. Every moment of every day, because God desires for you, for us, for me, to have peace.

“For the LORD says this, “Behold, I extend peace to her (Jerusalem) like a river, And the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; And you will be nursed, you will be carried on her hip and [playfully] rocked on her knees.”

Okay, breaking this down a bit. First off I challenge you to search the word "peace" in the Bible. For there are TOO many incredible scriptures about peace. TOO MANY. Which just shows us more of how much peace He truly wants us to posses. How willing He is, how much He unexplainably desires His children to live with such fullness of peace. This scripture tells us that God just wants to take care of us. A river is such a perfect perspective. It runs effortlessly, it takes care like a mother would in endless ways, and a river carries itself peacefully and powerfully. It's the perfect analogy.

He says, "Be still and know that I am God." BE STILL. For when we are not at peace, it's hard to even understand the most important element in life and that is just KNOWING that God is God.

Stillness, seems impossible sometimes, maybe most of the time. Where you seem to not have any time. Where nothing is going your way. Where maybe you feel like your life is drowning you, you can't even stay afloat and it's a constant hardship on your heart. Where you cannot handle your life. Life gets hard and crazy and horrible. But God has everything in His righteous and glorious hands. He's got this. Not you.

Please, just stop in your tracks. Force it. For when you are still, God is finally able to speak to you. When you are able to listen, He has absolutely beautiful things He wants to talk to you about, show you even. All He needs is you, His beloved.

Today, and everyday, allow the Lord to give you the gift of PEACE.

With all my love and may you find peace,
Amber Ellison
