My Fall Favorites + Necessities + Tips and Tricks

Okay guys... I'm no expert at telling you how to live your life. And that's a great thing because you wouldn't want me to do that, either. Unless you do... anyway I am so happy that fall is here! #finally

Unfortunately, it decided to greet me with a little cold, but it's fine I'm fine everything's fine.

I would love to share with you some of my favorite fall drinks, clothing necessities for staying warm and cozy, makeup palette favs, and some iPhone photography tips and tricks for how to capture those perfect fall colors!

First, let's start with drinks. You're probably gonna call me crazy, but I have never had a pumpkin spice latte. I know, I know, it's ridiculous, I know. Anyway here are a couple of my favorite drinks for this fall season!

1. Mocha with Whip no drizzle

I am a firm believer in anything and everything chocolate. So combining coffee and chocolate together is a win win for me. I'm okay without the chocolate sauce but there's no reason to skimp out on the whipped cream. Come on.

2. Sweet Chai Latte

You can thank the one and only Joy Dasher (follow her on Instagram, @joyedasher) for this one.I've never had a spicy one, but sweet ones are perfect for me. (Sidenote- Monk and Mongoose Gourmet Coffee has the best one)

Okay, let's move on to my clothing necessities.

First and foremost, we have to talk about fuzzy socks. I am the hugest 5 year old eva and I loveee warm, thick, cozy socks.

Secondly, SWEATERS. They are a gift from Heaven (can I get an Amen?!). You might also think I'm crazy for this one, but I have found the softest "sweatshirts" or "sweaters" whatever you wanna call them, at Walmart! They have been one of my best finds of the season!

And third, bombers. I found a black one at Target for under $20 and it is the cutest and one of the warmest jackets I own! It conveniently has a zipper pocket on the arm and it's the perfect size for keys, earbuds, or anything small like that. If you don't have a bomber, you need to find one and soon. They're literally perfect.

Now onto makeup.

I love makeup.

My best friend introduced me to this incredible company called "Essence Cosmetics". Their products are made with less harmful chemicals and they're supposed to be better for your skin. We found their products at Ulta and I was shocked at their prices. I bought an 8 shade eye shadow palette, two matte nude lipsticks (which by the way are among my favorite lipsticks), and a contour palette for under $15!! If you are looking for a smokey, nude eye shadow palette or matte lipsticks for a reasonable (very reasonable) price, this is for you! I definitely give them a 5 star rating.

And lastly, some of my favorite tips and tricks for getting the best photos out of your iPhone!

For those of you out there who don't have a fancy shmancy camera but a smartphone in your pocket, these are for you.

You want to get the best photos out of your phone, right? It's the one thing that's with you wherever you go and your go-to item to snap a quick picture of something possibly unforgettable. Am I right!?

Personally I love nature. Trees, flowers, the sky, the whole shebang. So, of you want to get a different view of a beautiful tree, go right up against the trunk and point your camera straight up. (If you have the new iOS 11, there are two crosses that form in the center of your camera when you point straight up or down. When you line up those two crosses, your pic is sure to be perfectly straight up!) If you don't have this feature, don't worry.

Here are a couple examples.

You know me, I love wildflowers even in the fall season. Here's a quick tip on how to get those close up pics of those gorgeous flowers while they're still bright and beautiful!

Get really close to it. Tap your screen so it focuses right in the center of the flower. You may not be a professional photographer, but from a few of these photos you might look like one! You can even try a blade of grass, or leaves!

Lastly, try taking pictures from the car window! While we drove up to the mountains last week, I took pictures of everything! The beautiful, color- changing trees, mountains and hills we passed, etc. Don't be afraid if it doesn't focus! Some of them may still come out lookin' pretty cool!

(This one on the left is a personal favorite of mine ;)

One final thing: be yourself. Don't be afraid to try something new or take 200 photos and find you only liked 10 of them. Allow the sun to come through the trees and see how it looks. Play around with photo editing apps to enhance your photos. *Disclaimer: aside from all of the adobe editing software, for a mobile editor, VSCO is the best free one I've tried*

And in the meantime before that camera you want drops out of the sky, take as many photos as you can with that smart phone of yours!

If you've made it this far, I hope you enjoyed reading about all of my favorites of this fall season! Tell me in the comments below what some of your seasonal favorites are!
